We are Artur Tchoukanov and Joris Peels.
Artur is passionate about technology, design, tinkering and creation. Origo was his idea, emerging from his own experiences with 3D printing. Artur wanted to look beyond existing 3D printers and start from scratch to see if an inexpensive, easy to use and accessible home 3D printer for kids could be made. This became his Masters project at the Umea Institute of Design.
Artur has interned at PininfarinaExtra and Shapeways and worked as a freelance designer for Huawei, Honeywell and others. Artur is in charge of overall design and engineering of the Origo. artur (at) origo3dprinting.com
Joris wants to let anyone make anything. He is obsessed with 3D printing, understanding the technology and making it easier to use. Previously Joris was the Community Manager of 3D printing service i.materialise and 3D printing community Shapeways.
